Why kidney patients die after Indian operation — Doctor

Why kidney patients die after Indian operation — Doctor

The President of the Transplant Association of Nigeria, Dr Ebun Bamgboye, has said some Nigerians who travel to India for kidney transplant lose their lives due to the absence of quality care in hospitals in the South Asian country
.
Bamgboye, a consultant physician and nephrologist, noted that people who did their kidney transplant in Nigeria had better outcomes than those who had theirs abroad.

He spoke on Saturday during an interview with our correspondent on the sideline of a media briefing on a health programme, ‘The August Event.’
The event, organised by St. Nicholas Hospital, Lagos Island, and Moses Majekodunmi Foundation, will hold on Wednesday, August 7, at the Muson Centre, Onikan.
According to Bamgboye, who is the Chairman of the planning committee, medical experts from different parts of the country would discuss the issue of universal health coverage, the challenges facing Nigeria’s health care system and other medical education.
Among the issues, he said, is kidney failure.

Speaking with our correspondent, he warned against the risk of kidney transplant in India.

He said, “I have had cause to follow up a lot of people who went to India. Quite a few people who go there are individuals we could not take because we knew the outcome would not be good. But when they get to India, because those ones want to get money, they just go ahead and do the transplant. And shortly after, the patient comes back and dies.

How 4 Young Nigerian Men Hijacked A Plane With Toy Gun In 1993 (The Reason They Did It Will Shock You)

On the 25th of October 1993, four young men led by teenager Richard Ogunderu (seated right) hijacked Air Nigeria’s Airbus A310.

They were members of the Movement for the Advancement of Democracy (MAD), this was their protest against the annulment of the June 12 elections by IBB.

Armed with toy guns, they hijacked the flight, which was originally going to Abuja from Lagos.
They intended to fly to Germany but were forced to make a landing in Niamey due to shortage of fuel, passengers, including govt officials would be held hostage for several days.

They separated the civilians from govt officials and released women and children. But eventually, in the cover of night the army stormed the plane and captured the boys.

They would spend months in a sweltering hot Niamey jail. They neither spoke French nor Hausa.
For nine years and four months Richard Ogunderu, Kabir Adenuga, Benneth Oluwadaisi and Kenny Rasaq-Lawal would languish in a Niamey jail before they were eventually released.

They learned how to speak French and would later return to Niger to do business after their release.

The boys learned creative arts and fashion design in the prison. Richard would attend the Alliance Francois after his release.

Unfortunately this year Richard got into a confrontation with some boys in Niger which led to him being injured. He is currently bed ridden.

Obviously, these guys did what they did with strong heart of Nationalism.
We will describe this as a radical move to save the country from dictatorship and make wish of millions of Nigerians at that time come to pass.

If I Quit Music, I Would Have Disappointed God— Zoro

If I Quit Music, I Would Have Disappointed God— Zoro

For Nigerian indigenous rapper/model, Owoh Chimaobi Chrismathner, popularly known as Zoro, who relocated to Lagos at a time to pursue his career in music, the challenges of life may have tempted him to quit.

But he has been on the steady rise to fame since the release of his hit singles, O42, Otu, Ogene and Achikolo, featuring Phyno and Flavour.

Recounting the challenges he had to grapple with while struggling to stamp his feet on the music scene, he stated that besides his family, friends and people who looked up to him, God would have been disappointed if he had given up.

“Just before my biggest song, imagine if I had quit. My prayers before I had my first breakthrough always reminded me of how much God would be disappointed in me if I stopped. My family also played a very big part, plus I would let a lot of people that believe in me down if I messed things up”, he revealed.

He further revealed that being an independent artiste with a determination to succeed; it took him time to understand the dynamics of the Nigerian music industry.

“Being an independent artiste coming from the east to an entirely different Lagos market, I didn’t know my left from my right. It took me time to find my rhythm; but I’m fine now.

I had to live with an open mind, letting myself pass through the required change process”, he said.

Speaking further, he noted that contrary to public knowledge, the Nigerian entertainment industry is not what it seems looking at it from the outside.

“I have come to learn that the industry is not as sweet as people see it from the outside. There is a lot of mental, psychological and emotional stress attached to it”, he said. He added that compared to when he launched his music career, the music industry has appreciated a great deal.

“We are optimistic, that if he (Senator Lawan) has gotten the seat under reference, he will carry everybody along, so that Nigeria will once again be blessed with having a National Assembly, that will work hard towards solving the problems of security challenges that are hindering the development of our great country”, Bello said.

Why We Can’t Sanction Pastors Who Accuse Kids Of Being Witches – Former CAN Boss

Why We Can’t Sanction Pastors Who Accuse Kids Of Being Witches – Former CAN Boss

A cleric has given reasons why the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) cannot go after Nigerian pastors who instigate the branding of children as witches.

Many children in Nigeria, mostly in the South-South states of Akwa Ibom and Cross River, have been beaten, stigmatised, and sent away into the street where they live as an outcast on the accusation of witchcraft.

Such accusation usually stems from a pastor ‘prophesying’ that a ‘witch’ child was responsible for a family misfortune – be it ill-health, job loss, or a business downturn.

Some parents or guardians sometimes go to the extent of setting their children on fire or beheading them.

Akwa Ibom, for instance, has a child rights law which criminalises the branding of children as witches, but there is nothing to indicate the law is effective.

“For a state that has a (Child Rights) law which is supposed to ensure that the right of the child is respected, you still discover daily that so many children are passing through situations that ordinarily they shouldn’t go through. And so, you wonder what has happened to that law,” Uduak Ekong, the chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Akwa Ibom state, said of the situation in the state.

“I’m worried because, for years, I have been expecting that we would see a reduction in the number of children who hawk on the street, for instance.

But every day as I drive along the road, I notice that rather than a reduction, it appears to be a thriving enterprise. We have too many children on the street.”

Mrs Ekong spoke at a roundtable on child development hosted by PREMIUM TIMES in Uyo to mark the 2019 Children’s Day.

“Many of these places are not churches; they are magic houses, they are 419 centres,” Cletus Bassey, an archbishop and past chairman of CAN in Akwa Ibom told PREMIUM TIMES, Friday, when asked in a separate interview what the association was doing to deter pastors from accusing children of being witches.

Mr Bassey said, “all kinds of nonsense things” happening in the “magic centres” cannot happen in the church.

“How can you be in a church where they would bring Coke and Fanta and they will say they are doing anointment, then anoint people with Coke and Fanta?

“How do you have a man who says he is a man of God and he would be putting his legs on a woman and would say he is doing deliverance?”

People who run such “centres” are mostly uneducated, lack theological training, and are not members of CAN, Mr Bassey said.

“There’s nothing CAN can do about it, you cannot go to a family in which you are not a member and say ‘sit down here’ or ‘don’t do that again’.

“You don’t have the instruments of taking charge of those things, you are not empowered by the constitution,” he said.

The archbishop said the witchcraft phenomenon was a nationwide thing, and not peculiar to Akwa Ibom.

PREMIUM TIMES asked Mr Bassey if he believes in the existence of witchcraft.
“You’ll find it in the Bible. Yes, it exists,” he responded.

“I grew up in a family where my maternal grandfather was a juju doctor and I practised it as a young man, until when I was 17 years old when Jesus came into my life and changed the whole thing about me.

So, I have seen both worlds and I understand how it works.”
PREMIUM TIMES further asked him why children from wealthy families are never branded as witches.

“How can their own children be labelled a witch when they themselves don’t go home (village) with them?
“If they carry those children and keep in the village with their grandparents, go back and hear what would have happened after that.”

The archbishop said the deliverance he does for the congregants in his church – the Destiny Mission International, Uyo – is a different type.

“Deliverance is done when the word of God comes. When you preach the word of God and anything that does not agree with that, when the word of God meet with resistance the word of God takes the upper hand, and at that point in time anything can happen.

“I don’t go about, looking for people to cast demons out, I don’t go about looking for people to call witches. No! That’s not my work.

“My work is to preach the word of God. This word of God, the Bible says, is the power of God unto salvation.

So there is no other deliverance than the word we preach, it is what brings deliverance.”

LET ’ S SETTLE THIS!!! Between Soundcity MVP Award & Headies Award – Which Is More Bigger ?

Hi Guys,
Something just happened right now at the Leadwaytunez HQ , Its our normal daily argument and today we have a very sensitive one for you.
We have two most notable award shows in the country namely; The Headies Award & The Soundcity MVP Award .

The Headies (originally called the Hip Hop World Awards) is a music awards show established in 2006 to recognize outstanding achievements on Nigerian acts.

Several artistes owe their landmark status and relevance on the music scene to the Headies Award.
Artistes like Wizkid, Davido ,
Omawunmi who have won the Next Rated Award have gone ahead to be successful and become global music superstars.

In the same vein, The Soundcity MVP Awards is highly regarded in the music industry also. Some view it as a much more credible award than The Headies.
Ever since its inception in 2016, it has held three editions. But just like The Headies Awards , it has also had its own controversies with people arguing the award organizers chose winners of some award categories wrongly.

These two awards are probably the two most prestigious award shows in the music industry filled with controversies, arguments and contentions on who deserves what.

But To You

We’ll like to hear your own view too.

*Badagry Expressway Abandonment*

This is what road users go through on Badagry Expressway on a daily basis with series of assurances and stories from the Federal Government and Lagos State Government since over a year now.

The West Africa link road is now a death trap to commuters, source of agony and pains to the inhabitants of Badagry division and a shame to the giant of Africa.

The painful part of it is that Lagos state task force now use the bike men who alleviate the time loss and pains of commuters as source getting bribes with incessant seizure of their bike on regular basis.

No thanks to Lagos state and Nigeria government.

Here Are The Top Nigerian Musicians That Blew And Then Went Back To Being Upcoming Artiste

The Nigeria Music Industry is moving very fast. The trends come and go, new talents emerges everyday, and old musicians think of new ways to stay relevant.
If you are a musician in this volatile business, then you have to master the art of change. A good number of Nigerian musicians have been able to pull it off while some others have been too slow to handle it.
There are certain others who had their big breaks but failed to leverage on it consistently until they really got to the height of their careers.
They released hit songs, got really popular, and then just as fast as they made it, dropped back to the ‘upcoming list.’ For some, they just lost their lucky streaks and for others, they relaxed a little too much by failing to even release songs.
You’ll certainly agree with me that the following Nigerian musicians ‘blew’ and then suddenly became upcoming all over again.
Ice Prince
Gone are the days where girls were screaming ‘TeanZamani.’ For some reason, Ice prince and his wonderful hits are no more. Unlike Brymo, Ice prince had more than one hit song.
From ‘Aboki’, to ‘Oleku’, ‘I swear’, ‘More’, and so many really thrilling tracks. Even the one he did with music veteran, Sunny Nneji’ was wonderful. Alas, 2017 and he seems to be completely forgotten. For some reason, his 2016 songs didn’t do well and we haven’t heard anything new from him since then.
Chidinma
The wonders of being a winner of Project Fame West Africa are immense. You get a recording contract, get exposure, a brand new car, and get a sudden pay out in millions of Naira. However, none of these things has helped Chidinma remain in the limelight.
Her name isn’t forgotten as she has been in the media. She has however not been on our tv screens or radio stations well enough for us to hear her. Her last few songs have been poor and she appears to have given up. We’re hoping she releases something soon enough before she fades into oblivion completely.
Brymo
Brymo came into the spotlight out of nowhere and he stole our hearts in an instant. Olawale Ashimi, better known as Brymo, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and composer. Unfortunately, he hasn’t really been worthy of that status since.
Formally Signed under Chocolate City, he has released a few albums that haven’t really done well. If you have the average Nigerian about Brymo, they’ll probably only remember him because of his track ‘Ara’ which was released as far back as far back as 2011. In fact, that was his first track under Chocolate City. What’s happening?
9ice
We can all agree that 9ice has had his fair share of popularity. He has also stayed in the industry long enough. Somewhere at the peak of his career, he decided to use his fame and goodwill to pursue his other dream which just happened to be politics.
We do hope that is working out for him somehow. What we know, however, is that his attempts at coming back hasn’t just worked well. Let’s hope he pulls back up in good time or we’ll just have to add him to our list of past wonders.
Rudi Omo Ibile
Abiola Babatunde Afeez with d stage name RUDY OMOIBILE is the crooner of LONI LOMA DELEYIN a song that receive a massive acceptance from the Nigeria community after which he release another Hit Song Titled PATE obo early last year.
Even though PATE OBO is a very dirty song that doesn’t stop it from making a massive wave in the Nigeria Industry when release early 2016. Rudi Omo Ibile is also popular for track like SHINAA, KIKI (THICK) and so on.
He is being managed by STREET TUNEZ ENTERTAINMENT But ever since the release of PATE obo the Nigeria listeners have been asking questions about the where about of RUDI OMO IBILE.
Others are Faze, Sky B, MI, Kelly Handsome, Eedris Abdulkareem, Omawunmi, Mr raw nwanne, & Daddy showkey.
Who do you think we missed out ?

3 ways to make a woman who rejected you change her mind

Men find it hard to accept the fact that a woman has rejected them.

Dealing with rejection if not easy, especially if you have deep feelingsrespectfully

You need to go back to the drawing board to make things right within the shortest time possible.

1. Communicate respectfully

Communication can make the woman rethink about the decision.

Respectfully talk to her even after rejection.

Women feel great when they are respected.

She will also learn to respect you if you do the same.

Do not turn abusive simply because she has said no to your approach.

2. Be honest about your feelings

Open up about the way you feel about her.

Do not hide anything from her.

Women love men who are free to speak their minds.

Do not beat around the bush if you truly want to date her.

3. Listen to what she says

Some men start ignoring women simply because they have refused to listen to them.

Well, it is not a wise thing to do when you feel rejected.

Listen to her thoughts, and she might think twice about the rejection.

Remember, a listening man is a caring man.
